Need to File A Claim?
Step 1. Get A Police Report.
Always wait for the police to come to the scene of the incident. The police report is used to determine liability and confirm the circumstances of the accident.
Step 2. Obtain Estimates.
While only one estimate is required, it is in your interest to get a secondary estimate. Insurance Carriers use the lower of the two to begin negotiating your settlement. Your settlement will reimburse you for the cost of procuring (1) one estimate once your loss falls within policy limits.
Step 3. Contact Family Insurance Agency
For your convenience, you can email the above forms to claims@familyinsurance.vi with all of your contact details. Our claims representative will call you to confirm that you claim has been received.
What's Next?
Within 48 working hours, you should be contacted by or referred to a company adjuster who will work with you to begin the process of settling the claim.
Can I rent a Car?
If you have rental reimbursement coverage on your policy, or if you have received damages from a 3rd party, you may be eligible for reimbursement of a rental expense as a result of the loss. It is important to obtain consent from the adjuster that your loss qualifies for this coverage.
